Here are some of our favorite destinations that we think you will enjoy doing yourself in 2018. Let us know on Facebook if you have been to any of these places, or you have another place to recommend to others as well.
Our No. 1 Favorite is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World In Orlando, FL this kicks off every year at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resorts from August 25-November 1, on special nights during the week. This is a separate ticket from the regular day pass, and those that have purchased the tickets will be able to stay in the park, while those that do not have these tickets must leave.
The whole parks is lit up and scary music playing throughout the night, special fireworks, and trick or treating. The parade with the ghouls and goblins from the humorous to those costumes that look magical and fiendish to romantic, even Mickey and Minnie get into the act.
Whether you are a kid or a kid at heart, you can dress up and enjoy this event.
No. 2 - New Orleans, LA - This is the place to go if you love to dress up and have a great time in the "Big Easy". Right behind Mardi Gras, which is not only fun but spooky and supernatural town, where else can you party during a funeral or for any particular reason, or visit haunted grave yards and mansions.
No. 3 - Transylvania, Romania - I hear this all the time, especially since my great grandmother came from Bucharest back in the early 1900s. People always said to me, "Oh you are from where Dracula comes from". I say no, my family came from the Capital. I would love to go and visit myself this strange and beautiful country.
Yes, Vlad Tepes, better know as Vlad the Impaler, was written about by Bram Stoker for his book Dracula because of all the terrible things he did to the Turks to protect his people against them. Besides the Castles and the kitchy tourism there, people are very superstitious of the places. Even on my favorite show with Josh Gates, Destination Unknown, has gone there and was spooked by things in the forest there. We have added information below for visiting Romania.
No. 4 Salem, MA. - That's right home of the Witch Trials of the early 1690's, where they have an awesome festival called Festival of the Dead. In almost every culture they recognize the Day of the Dead. Like in Mexico it is called "Dia de los Muertos" and is celebrated for 3 days from October 31-November 2, 2017 this year. But in Salem, we burned people who today are called naturists or herbalists, that can cure health or try to with the assistance of a physician to treat people holistically.
We hope you enjoy some of our favorite places for Halloween Travel! What are yours? We want to hear from you. Post your comments here on on Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc.
