Did you know that there is a 3 Day Weekend Marathon that takes place the 1st in January every year?
Neither did we!
We are posting this to you today for 2 reasons?
1. We have clients who love to run, whether it is just to keep healthy or run in groups, etc. You get it right, of course right!
2. We are big Disney Geeks! Yes, we love traveling all over the world, but both Nelson and myself are going through our first and second childhood, plus we are romantics, and think WDW - Walt Disney World is a great place to spend that special time with your special someone. Valentines Day is coming up and wedding season. Great options for you.
So let's get back to the RunDisney Weekend. Marathon.. Below is the course for the last day which is the 26 miles through all 4 theme parks, which starts and ends at EPCOT.
This is the 25th Anniversary of the Marathon; and people from around the world, just like the New York City and the Boston Marathons; but along the route of the race, they have characters running with you and cast members, special rides and attractions (the rides and attractions for after the marathon or before) music going on during, keeping everyone motivated as they go through the finish lines.
Just to let you know that if you missed this weekend for running they have various ones throughout the year
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend presented by MISFIT™
In recent years they have added a new marathon for your Star Wars Fans, which happens in April, this year it is Sunday, April 20, 2018 and it is called Star Wars Half Marathon - The Dark Side.
These races are not only for those from around the world, but people who are wheelchair runners, blind runners, etc. If you are a person that walks, this is not for you. You have to be in shape to run as you know.
There are also places you can volunteer and help out during this time.
So if you are thinking of another reason to visit Walt Disney World, why not go for the Marathon.
