As mentioned yesterday, July 30, 2017; there are many new and exciting things coming to the Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Lines over the next 4 Years. We are so glad to bring this information to you.
You may know that Nelson and I are both Disney Fans, and not just the theme parks and the Animated movies, but when growing up Disney also had their live adventure movies of different destinations and animal movies, that is one of the reasons, we are so passionate about travel, among other reasons. I wish they would bring back The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday Nights, that was real family evening TV.
Okay let's first talk about not one, not two but three (3) new cruise ships that Disney has ordered that will start arriving in over the next few years. If you have never been on a Disney Cruise Ship, it is all about the service. Whether you have a family traveling or just adults (because these ships you can go off on your own and never hear or see any children, from their spas and dining options to the look and feel of the ships. Disney is like you stepped back in time and arrived on a beautiful luxury liner. Yes, Disney is more money then most but what the include on the ships, is just awesome. No groups can be held, but if you are thinking family reunion, you all have to book at the same time. They even have if you don't want the ocean view, the Magical Portholes in the interior rooms.
Star Wars Land is being called - Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
New details were revealed about the immersive Star Wars-themed lands that will open in 2019 this past week at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including their name—Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The lands are set in a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, a name that represents all the unknown adventure happening within. (information offered by D23 Expo which, we are members of www.D23.com)
Guests will find themselves in the middle of the action, whether they’re piloting the Millennium Falcon or aboard a Star Destroyer inside a hangar bay. “The scale of this attraction is unlike anything that has ever been done before, indicated from Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek
Walt Disney Imagineers told us “This is a living place, a place where your choices matter.” Guests might see some “galactic credits” come their way, or they could end up on the list of a local bounty hunter.
There’ll, of course, be a cantina for unique drink concoctions (including blue milk!) with a familiar face playing DJ: the droid Rex.
Both lands will open in 2019, but Disneyland in California will be first to open in 2019.
As recently as July 3, 2017; the last time Nelson and I were down at Hollywood Studios, there is a lot of work going on with Toy Story Land being built, plus the work going on with Star Wars Edge, that there will be other things going on prior to the opening of these new lands. Such as A Dedicate ride just for Mickey Mouse, If you think about it, there has never been on. This will be replacing the "Great Movie Ride" at Hollywood Studios, the one inside the replica of Grauman's Chinese Theater that is the center of the park. The structure will still be there but the ride itself is closing August 13. 2017 to add the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway it will not be a roller coaster this new innovation ride will not have a track to it, like other rides as we, know them, leave it to Disney to create this stuff, and soon, I am sure all the other Disney Wanna Bees will follow suit.
Okay here is what you have been waiting for, it is not a rumor any longer!
Star Wars-Themed Resort Announced - no opening dates as of yet, but for sure it will be before the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World October 1, 2021 that is only 4 years away.
From what we understand, you will be able to stay 2 - 3 days the most, and this will definitely be a luxury, full immersion experience staying here. You will have rooms and costumes all designed around Star War, Let's remember Disney owns the rights to Star Wars, this is something you are going to want to save up for. If you are the biggest star wars fan, this is something you are not to want to miss, and when it opens, you will want to book right away, because it will sell out. So you know who to call.
A few other things coming sooner than 2021, stay tuned and find out more.
Amazing Things Coming To Walt Disney World Over the Next 4 Years to Celebrate Their 50th Anniversary On October 1, 2021
We are so exciting to share with you some of the exciting news coming out of Disney over the next few years.
Some people are not happy with these changes, and some people cannot wait to see the new technology and other things that the Disney Imagineers are bringing to all of us.
Mr. Walt Disney himself has said, I am not quoting him, but just putting into a shorter form. Disney World, Disneyland, and anything Disney is meant to be changing. He believed that learning and exploring new ways to entertain families is exciting.
When I say people are not happy, I mean, that people who like the old rides, and things that stay the same will always ask me, "why is Disney changing again?" I myself cannot wait to see the newest things.
I would highly recommend that if you will be visiting the Orlando area for your trip from now until at least 2021 (50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World), that you do not rent a car, if you can please stay on property versus staying at another resort and taking public transportation, the hotel shuttles, or even Uber. Why you may ask? No it is not because I am wanted you to pay more money. It is because of all the traffic and construction that is going on now and in the future.
Now living down here in Central Florida, it will be a year in September, that Nelson and I have moved to Florida. Remember, we are still serving all clients throughout the country.
Between the construction around the Airport area, the new roads along 1-4, and the construction going on the roads that encompass Walt Disney World, you can literally be stuck in traffic just outside the parks (which also include Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and other attractions, you can be sitting in your car for over an hour in the heat.
So it is highly recommend to stay on property and take advantage of the Walt Disney World Transportation System that starts by picking you up at Orlando International Airport and taking you to your resort, and depending on which one you are staying at you have the Bus system, which have there own lanes that get you to the parks faster than another other way of getting to them. Or you have a boat or monorail to get you to the different theme parks.
Soon you will have the newest form of transportation at WDW, Since the Orlando Destination is twice the size of Manhattan Island, many of the property is still untouched and will probably never be fully used, so having additional ways to get around is only going to make a guest’s visit more magical. But two new forms of transportation were announced to travel professionals and at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. that come with their own unique versions of Disney magic. Vehicles themed to Minnie Mouse will soon take guests from point to point around Walt Disney World by land will be the New Disney Skyliner will get you where you'd like to go by air. With gondolas themed to beloved Disney characters, the Disney Skyliner will connect Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach resorts and other locations with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.
Toy Story Land to Open in Summer 2018 (More like towards October 2018) We will keep you posted though.
Toy Story Land will be a part of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Nelson and I try to get to all of the attractions as much as possible when new things come out. Being Disney College of Knowledge Certified, we get invited to go to the new events and more, before the public gets to know many of the things going on.
We cannot wait for this ourselves. When going to the parks, there is a lot of construction going on; so be prepared, you will able to visit all the parks, you might just be detoured to get to them, but it is not taking away from the magnificent parks themselves.
Coming up next is the most anticipated updates to Disney's Hollywood Studios is Star Wars Land, Star Wars Themed Resorts. 3 new Disney Cruise Lines and so much more. Stay tuned.
Let us know what you think below about the updates so far, in the comments area.
Back on June 16, 2017, President Donald Trump, had announced changes for the United States being involved with Cuba. What does this exactly mean for U.S. Citizens when traveling to Cuba moving forward.
Actually not much, accept for clients looking to visit Cuba, which many people contacting either myself or Nelson, don't realize that you must follow certain guidelines and have certain documentation prior to entering Cuba, you cannot get off the plane or ship without a few things to consider. We also suggest that if you are looking for a more economical way of traveling there, a cruise is the most economical way to go. With the restrictions and the pricing that will go up with the current Administration, we do not get political. We just give you the truth about traveling. That the Destination Tour Companies that Echevarria Travel uses to go on a land tour will jump in price due to the pricing and restrictions at hotels and more.
With a cruise, your hotel is your ship, so they cannot taxes extra on something that is in the water and not on the land itself, the port charges might go up, but at this time there doesn't seem that the cruise lines are doing this, but come in the future that might change. So stay tuned for updates on that.
First, All U.S. Citizen must have passports traveling to Cuba. Those who have cruised before with just a birth certified because it is considered a Cruise lines with closed loop cruises may permit passengers to sail using a birth certificate and photo i.d. You cannot do this with Cuba, you must have a US Valid Passport that will expire 6 months after your trip, not before. Everyone including infants. Please resources tab on our website for more on obtaining a US Passport.
All guests are required to obtain a visa in order to enter Cuba. The type of visa that a guest will need will depend on certain factors, including the reason for travel to Cuba. Most guests will be able to enter Cuba using a "Tarjeta Turistica" (or tourist card) visa. You can purchase this visa from the cruise line at a cost of $75 per person. The visa is distributed at the time of boarding. Alternatively you can obtain a visa from the Cuban consulate or a visa service, but going through a cruise line is a major benefit.
Pay the health insurance fee: The Cuban government requires all guests to purchase health insurance, which will be automatically included in port charges. Your medical insurance is not good in Cuba and will not be accepted should you become ill or worse have gotten hurt while traveling.
Book shore excursions: Half-day and full –day shore excursions offered by any tour company must meet the U.S. government’s people-to-people educational activities requirement. You just cannot head off the plane or cruise-ship and head to the beach or other on your own tours. Many of the tours are designed in order to have guests interact with small family-run operations to give them an authentic Cuban experience. The cruise lines have done all the legwork in creating meaningful experiences that meet all U.S. regulatory requirements.
Bring Cash or Convert Money - ATMs and U.S. Credit Cards will not work in Cuba.
Staying in touch online: Wi-Fi in Cuba requires the use of cards with codes at Internet spots located usually around major hotels. You are best off sharing experiences with your friends at home using the ship's Internet access. If you want to use your cellphones, check with the provider about service and fees in Cuba.
Echevarria Travel will hosting a Group Cruise to Cuba in 2018; no dates as of yet, please contact us if you are interested in visiting this historic destination.
Please indicate below, so we can add you to an existing list for 2018; cruises sail from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa to Cuba. Until further notice, the current time frames for 2018 are March - December 2018; more than likely we will be cruising April or May 2018.
